Green is the new black.
Add some green to your wardrobe–and help out the uninsured–at Junk2Funk, an art auction event benefiting North Coast Health Ministry. For Junk2Funk, local artists were asked to design one-of-a-kind fashion and art made from recycled materials. (Get it? Objects go from junky to funky and what was once trash is transformed into something cool.)
Aside from an auction, there’ll be a “green” cocktail, reception, hors d’oeuvres from local restaurants, compostable plates and cutlery; and organic, fair trade coffee from Coffee for a Cause–a new local business started by Mireille Sjoblom-Kious and Ruthie Koenigsmark that donates $3 per bag of coffee sold to a number of local and national charities.
Junk2Funk, put on by Local Girl Gallery, GreenSmart Gifts and EcoLakewood, is on Sat 4/24 from 7-10PM @ Local Girl Gallery, 16106 Detroit Ave. in Lakewood.
