The Green Dream

The Green Dream

GREEN Fri 4/16 @ 1PM

Let’s begin creating a greener tomorrow… TODAY. One decision, one person, one day at a time — a plan so simple, it starts with ONE.

Inspired, yet?

Just wait until you attend the Green Dream Eco-Friendly Showcase on Fri 4/16 from 1-7PM @  Beachwood Community Center, 32325 Fairmount Blvd in (where else?) Beachwood.

More than 75 local biz and orgs will show-off their eco-friendly products and services to over 4K visitors. Learn how local biz are going green, check out “green autos” like the Smart Car and the Tesla Roadster, learn about organics and view a sweet public eco-art installation.

And, perhaps the coolest thing of all — aside from the event bring free — is that this was developed by the Beachwood High School Marketing/Junior Achievement class.

A bit of history…

The Green Dream Eco-Friendly Showcase was created in 2007 by the Beachwood High School Marketing Education/Junior Achievement class. Twenty students set out to create a public venue where businesses and organizations could show how easy it was to “Go Green”. In its first year, The Green Dream attracted over 70 businesses and 2,200 attendees. Now recognized as Ohio’s largest eco-friendly showcase, it continues to grow and inspire people throughout the world.

Beachwood Marketing Education/Junior Achievement is lead by Mr. Greg Perry and is part of Mayfield Excel TECC. Using the Junior Achievement Company Program, the students operate The Green Dream as an actual business. Business Consultant, Karen Carmen from the City of Beachwood, continues to work each year with the marketing students as they develop The Green Dream Eco-Friendly Showcase.

Through strategic school-business partnerships and with the proceeds from The Green Dream, the students have built “The Ultimate Green Classroom” to serve as a model for green schools, businesses, and homes.
