The folks at Go Media bring you Weapons of Mass Creation: a brand spankin’ new art, film and music fest supercharged w/ creativity. Think of it as a DIY version of SXSW; a festival full of entertainment and entrepreneurs, consumers and creators.

On May 22 and 23 artists, designers, nerds, film geeks, musicians, punks, and hippies will all gather… There will be film screenings and discussions in the afternoon and punk rock and indie/folk bands performing in the evenings. This all happens in the midst of a supercharged creative art show featuring some of my favorite artists and designers from across the country. And if we’re lucky a few of them might share their insights in collaborative panel discussion or demonstrations. It’s truly something for the creative community to experience…
We’ll be celebrating all the cool creative stuff we do that’s outside the mainstream. I’m going to get a little more specific here and get into the meaning of WMC Fest. You should know the event features art, film, and music, but it will lean more toward music/film inspired illustration and graphic design, diy punk rock and folk music, and documentary/foreign/arthouse/obscure/cult films. Overall, there’s a big DIY spirit and focus on doing things your way, on your own terms. And finally we’ll have roundtable discussions about these topics led by industry leaders.
