Poet Mary Oliver (born in Maple Hts, Ohio, in 1935) is the author of more than a dozen books of poetry and prose, including American Primitive (winner of a Pulitzer Prize) New and Selected Poems (a National Book Award winner) and House of Light (winner of the Christopher Award and the L. L. Winship/PEN New England Award). Her most recent poetry collection, Evidence, was released in April of 2009.
