An American Trilogy: OddyFest #23

Fri 7/2 + Fri 7/16 @ 6:45PM

Add something odd to your Friday evenings (every odd Fri, of course) and check out OddyFest, two evenings per month of free, grassroots theater @ Cleveland Heights Library.

Here’s the scoop for An American Trilogy — OddyFest #23:

Oddy’s most ambitious evening of theatre yet: three long one-act plays by Oddy Ringmaster Matt Greenfield in honor of America’s 234th b-day

“Welcome to Virginia”

A historically-loose investigation of the diverse culture of Jamestown as a Scots-Irish farmer, an African would-be-slave, and a Puritan who got on the wrong boat try to scratch out an existence in late-17th century America.

“September 10, 2001”

Dramatic irony at its Oddy-est: the impact of 9/11 implicitly examined through a day-in-the-life of a suburban family before the tragedy.

“Gazebo”

A highly absurdist work that uses a park gazebo as metaphor for this ambiguous nation-state and its constantly-shifting sense of identity.
