Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home is a story of awakened consciousness. It’s the story of Harold Brown, a former fifth-generation beef farmer (and former Clevelander) who decided he couldn’t continue raising animals for food. Now he speaks around the country advocating for animals and the environment. Catch this award-winning movie of personal transformation when it premieres in Cle on Sun 6/27. The screening’s free and will be followed by a Q&A w/ the filmmakers and film subject, Farmer Brown.
Filmmakers Jenny Stein and James LaVeck along with film subject and former Cleveland resident Harold Brown will be in Cleveland on June 27th for the Ohio premiere of their award-winning documentary Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home. The film features the story of Brown’s transformation from a fifth-generation beef farmer who worked half his life in animal agriculture to impassioned advocate for animals and the environment. In Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home, he shares the touching story of how he broke away from the traditions of his upbringing to forge a new way in the world, based on his desire to live in harmony with his most deeply held values.
Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home is currently enjoying a winning streak on the North American film festival circuit, taking home the Audience Award at the Environmental Film Festival at Yale, the Grand Jury Prize at the Canada International Film Festival, the Best Documentary Award at Chicago’s Peace on Earth Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Berkshire International Film Festival in just the last two months.
