Two lovely events in Shaker Heights: The first one, Twilight Garden Benefit, will be held at an architecturally-stunning Shaker home [pictured] on Fri 6/18 and will feature a gourmet dinner, auctions and a Brazilian Jazz Duo. Yes, add some class to your Friday evening. This event is a kick-off for Sunday’s garden tour.
More:
The Twilight in the Garden Benefit will be held at the Van Sweringen mansion, the former home of Oris Paxton and Mantis James Van Sweringen. The Vans, as they were known, developed the nationally renowned community of Shaker Heights in the early 1900’s. Their vision of a beautiful, park-like suburb was based on a garden city concept originating in England. Today the South Park Boulevard residence is the home of Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Schachat. Enjoy a fun-filled evening in a spectacular home built to the highest standards of old world craftsmanship brimming with unbelievable architectural details. It is truly a work of art.
