Chalk is for everyone: kids, graffiti artists, illustrators, painters… you. The Cleveland Museum of Art’s Chalk Fest is a “modern expression of a Renaissance tradition from 16th-century Italy, in which beggars copied paintings of the Madonna by Raphael and his contemporaries, using chalk on the plazas outside cathedrals.” See, even people back then created art w/ chalk.
Show up near the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Fine Arts Garden on Sat 9/18 and Sun 9/19 to watch visionaries of all ages chalk up a masterpiece. Or register (pay the fee) and join in. Featured chalk artists will do their thing and live bands will provide the soundtrack.
