The talk on Mon 2/1 will focus on Voter Engagement in the African American Community and will feature a panel w/ Senator Nina Turner, Dr. C. Jay Matthews and Klassic Barbershop Owner Levon Johnson. Moderated by Kyle Earley [pictured].
The scoop:
Barbershop Talk is designed to engage Cleveland men and women in discussions focused on issues that directly impact our communities. The Cleveland Voter Coalition will host a community conversation in a Cleveland-based barbershop which will allow us to do the following:
•Register individuals to vote
•Allow voters to update their voter registration information
•Educate the community on federal, state, county and city legislative… issues
•High light community leaders and programs that are offering effective services through out greater Cleveland
•Engage individuals in the social and political process of change
•Identify voter engagement block captains
