Congress ready to de-fund PBS & NPR

Could this be the end of public broadcasting? The House Appropriations Committee will vote over the next few days on a proposal to completely eliminate federal funding for public broadcasting. If this proposed legislation passes, it would be the end of public broadcasting as we know it. Sound devastating? Take action: Contact your rep through the website http://www.170MillionAmericans.org and let them know you’re one of the 170 million Americans who use public media.

We are fortunate in this region to have two NPR radio stations and two PBS television stations. You can reach WKSU Radio at 800-672-3114, Western Reserve PBS TV at 1-800-554-4549, and ideastream (WVIZ-TV and WCPN-radio) at 877-399-3307.
