The Taqwacores was a hit when it screened at the 2010 Cleveland Independent Film Fest. Set in Buffalo but shot in Cleveland, this groundbreaking film details the Muslim punk rock scene, focusing on unorthodox Islamic twenty-somethings who “pray all day and party all night.” Based on a 2003 novel by Michael Muhammad Knight. Director Zahra will answer questions both nights. On Thu 2/24 there will be a post-film panel discussion organized by InterAct Cleveland.
