Clampdown: Labor, Management & the Recession

Opening Sat 4/30 @ 6PM

On view through Sat 5/21

The American economy sucks. The unemployment rate is soaring and many people lucky enough to have a job have to accept wage freezes and furloughs. Rank-and-file wages have stagnated yet executive pay has more than doubled, perpetrating a giant wage gap. What’s up with that?

Twenty regional artists delve into these issues in Clampdown: Labor, Management & the Recession, opening on Sat 4/30 @ Zaller Gallery.

They say, “It is our hope that through art we can contribute to the larger dialogue about where we are now as a society in terms of labor-management dynamics, how we got here, what transformations have taken place in context of the Recession, and perhaps most importantly, where might we possibly be heading from here forward.”
