MegLouise Dance Company brings you their latest production i learned not to kneel. After an amazing year of development, the show is here, ready for your enjoyment.
About: “The production melts vibrantly saturated dancing and vivid imagery into an all absorbing stimulus for the senses. The choreography employs a uniquely visceral movement language and is enhanced by Anne Sexton’s poem, Cigarettes and Whiskey and Wild Wild Women. Sexton writes that, ‘by two or three, i learned not to kneel’ as she explains one child’s response to violence. The words of pain and recklessness are only a starting point for greater things. Tragedy holds equal parts ache and opportunity in this performance honoring resilience, integrity, sweat and emotional investment.”
