Old Friends, Odd Friends @ Proximity Gallery

Opening Sat 7/16 @ 6PM

See the work of three artists with a shared history and very different styles of work in Old Friends, Odd Friends @ Proximity Gallery. Exhibit opens Sat 7/16/11. Runs through Fri 8/12.

About: “Janet Bruhn is a painter of all things ordinary – a lone lawn chair, a package of hotdog buns, a lunch bag – she gives personality and importance to everyday items. Wes Friedrich’s surreal installations explore the relationships between gallery, object, and viewer. Nathan Margoni creates large and bizarre kinetic installations out of fabric, wood, and found objects – his work attempts to reconcile his own fears with the things he is most familiar and comfortable with. The work in this show all begins in the realm of the un-extraordinary, only to be transformed into pieces that are bizarre, extreme, beautiful, and thought-provoking.”
