The first album to take a full six months in the making, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles is considered by many to be not only the crowning achievement by the best band in the world, it also tops many lists of the best album of all time. Even today, it rewards close listening, and confounds those who try to figure out how such amazing sounds were recorded using only a 4-track tape machine.

Now comes Scott Freiman, with his rare audio and video sources, and first-hand recollections drawn from those in the know. He walks the audience through a detailed analysis of not only the songwriting, but also the production techniques used to create this masterpiece. Then, the next day, he does it again, this time with The Beatles’ 1968 2-LP set The Beatles, commonly known as the “White Album,” which many people consider an even greater achievement, especially given the deteriorating condition of the relationships between the members of the band, who were about to break up.
