This month, 78th Street Studios’ Third Friday falls late, so those of you who have been postponing your shopping have a golden opportunity to pick up something unique and artist-made. Susie Frazier’s first-floor shop offers nature-based items — vases, candles, bowls, accessories — with a wellness slant. Downstairs Yellowcake has American-made fashion, while Googie Style and the Byzantine feature antiques, home decor and collectibles of various vintages. Many of the resident artists will not only have their high-end fine-art work but also smaller items for gift giving. Check out the exceptionally affordable art at E11even2, and small items offered by nature painter Eileen Dorsey.
If you can’t make it over to 78th Street Studios on Third Friday and still have shopping to do, head over there on Saturday and Sunday for the Holiday Handmade Market, featuring local and region artists and crafts people with clothing, jewelry, body and skin care products, local edibles and much more. They’ll be located on the lower level; admission is free.
