L’Heure espagnole & L’Enfant et les sortileges

Wed 3/14 – Sun 3/18

Here’s an intriguing opera —  L’Heure espagnole & L’Enfant et les sortileges — now onstage @ Oberlin:

“From the man who gave you Bolero comes two sensational operatic ’10s.’ In L’Heure espagnole, a clock workshop becomes a garden of love in which a series of suitors employ entertaining antics to earn the affections of Concepción, the clock maker’s wife. L’Enfant et les sortileges features a misbehaving child who tortures his toys, only to have them turn on him after his bedroom transforms into a garden. In both operas, Ravel’s brilliant orchestration is met with enchanting characters and thrilling narratives that will provide opera fans with a night of excitement and wonder.”

Shows run Wed 3/14, Fri 3/16 + Sat 3/17 @ 8PM. Sun 3/18 @ 2PM. Hall Auditorium.
