Yuri’s Night sounds like loads of intergalactic fun, with the night promising live music by Disco Inferno, dancing, Jello shots, a midnight OMNIMAX showing of Hubble, a costume contest, cocktails, trivia, Star Wars reenactors, and super cool science experiments.
So what’s the deal with Yuri? According to GLSC, “Yuri’s Night parties and events are held around the world every April in commemoration of April 12, 1961, the day of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin’s first manned space flight, and April 12, 1981, the inaugural launch of NASA’s Space Shuttle.”
