In a move that is sure to bring lower fares and more stability to Northeast Ohio travelers, Southwest Airlines has added two flights from Akron-Canton Airport to Chicago’s Midway, bringing midweek fares from around $850 down to $200. This important route will allow passenger to connect in Chicago to Southwest’s huge (and low-cost) nationwide network.
For Akron-Canton Airport officials, the announcement is a “dream fulfilled,” as they are pleased to have Southwest’s “big airplanes going to places that people want to go,” while keeping fares as low as possible.
The two round-trip Midway routes will begin August 12.
