Renowned local artist Robert Thurmer wants to explore how we recognize art objects. He’ll do just that in Dark Matter, his new exhibit @ Arts Collinwood.
Read on… “Specifically: what are the markers for ‘art object’ that are generally recognized without specialized privileged information. To explore these ideas, I started making these recent sculptures in an attempt to make my own ‘found’ art, what I like to call paraphrastic objects – stand-ins that refer to certain kinds of conventional art objects.”
