America’s first professional regional theatre, the Cleveland Play House, is riding the wave of the first season in their new Downtown home at PlayhouseSquare.
Artistic director Michael Bloom talks about the venerable theatre’s incredible success, doubling their single-ticket sales this year, an unheard of feat.
This week they present the second week of their New Ground Theatre Festival, featuring “Bust” by Lauren Weedman, “The Rap Guide To Evolution” by Baba Brinkman, and a new play by Michael Bloom himself, “The Fagin Effect.”
And the sneak peek? Well, actually there’s two: One is the cool new Lab Theatre shared by PlayhouseSquare, Cleveland Play House, Cleveland State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance and Case Western Reserve University’s MFA Acting Program.
The other is Michael’s personal preview of CPH’s 2012/13 season, which has just been announced.
