Move over Mozart! Make Room for Jazz at Severance Hall

Fri 8/10 @ 8pm

Matt Skitzki and seven other of Northeast Ohio’s rising jazz stars are putting on a show featuring some of their original jazz pieces at that temple of classical music, Severance Hall, home of the Cleveland Orchestra. What started out as informal jam sessions between friends and band mates to read, practice and experiment with their new compositions has turned into a formal production in Cleveland’s premier concert hall.

Listen in as Cool Cleveland Correspondent Carol Drummond interviews Matt Skitzki as he talks about about the concert details. At the event, concert goers will find local talent like Josh Rzepka, whose album Into The Night rose to #9 on jazz radio charts, saxophonist Bobby Selvaggio, trumpeter Mark Russo, pianist (and event coordinator) Matt Skitzki, as well as Johnny Cochran, Ricky Exton, Alan Gleghorn and WCLV announcer John Simna.

You can experience the region’s best up-and-coming jazz talent in a concert at Severance Hall, featuring the performers’ own works. The concert, Jazz at Severance Hall, is Fri 8/10, 2012 at 8p.m. Get your tickets through the Severance Hall box office or by calling 216.231.1111.
