Ohio Knitting Mills hosted a cool pop-up again, in the offices of Twist Creative at W. 28th & Lorain. See the PHOTOSTREAM here.
This time, they built a sweet pup tent and featured a fashion show and members of the Almeda Trio.
Steven Tatar salvaged the patterns, fabric and some of the actual finished knitwear from the historic Ohio Knitting Mills, which thrived in Cleveland between 1947 – 1974, and at its peak employed over 1000 workers.
The sweaters, vests, dresses, pants, caps, capes and shawls they made reflected the times: bold colors, quality materials and a surprisingly hip aesthetic.
