Five spontaneous videos in five hours?
Between the hours of six and eleven PM on the evening of November 16, 2012, Cool Cleveland visited five creative hotspots and spoke with five of Cleveland’s most interesting people.
This was stop number three:
Kendall Embrescia 87.7 Cleveland’s Sound
In the era of Pandora, Spotify and Sirius, a few Cleveland radio veterans are launching something radical: an actual local radio station.
You may have noticed a new Cleveland-centric radio station at the (very) far left of your FM dial: 87.7 Cleveland’s Sound WLFM-LP recently made their debut, and on Sat 11/16/12, they threw themselves a Launched Party at the Barley House in the Warehouse District and attracted a packed crowd.
Kendall Embrescia, director of marketing found a spot by the photo booth and talked with Cool Cleveland about the new station’s mission & goals, their Cleveland legacy, and some of the key players: radio legends Tom Wilson & Tom Embrescia, who previously owned WDOK & WRMR, and had been involved in running WTAM, all local Cleveland radio giants. Watch the video here.
With a triple-A format (Adult Album Alternative), and local talent such as Rachel Steele on afternoon drive, Just Archie (Berwick) weekday mornings, and the venerable Inner Sanctum, which is dedicated to local Cleveland music, this fresh new voice is 100% Cleveland.
