VIDEO: Thomas Fox at Bad Racket (#5 of 5)

Five spontaneous videos in five hours?

Between the hours of six and eleven PM on the evening of November 16, 2012, Cool Cleveland visited five creative hotspots and spoke with five of Cleveland’s most interesting people.

This was stop number five:

Thomas Fox at Bad Racket

Bad Racket is Cleveland’s craft recording space. But it’s so much more. And on Fri 11/16/12, the place was jammed tight and there was quite a racket going on.

Housed in the same warehouse building at 45th & Lorain Avenue as creative agency Go Media and furniture & product design studio 2nd Shift, Bad Racket has been producing music and video releases for bands since 2010. They produce a video every month with different area bands, Live From Bad Racket.

While Signals Midwest performed in the Bad Racket studio/stage space celebrating the release of a soundtrack of the first 12 videos they produced, Cool Cleveland huddled with co-owner Thomas Fox in the Bad Racket control room to talk about their creative process that includes audio production, event hosting and video creation. They’ve worked with area bands such as Annabel, Smug Saints, Lost Jon & The Ghosts, Filmstrip, The Ohioans, Cherry Cola Champions, Black Taxi, The Black Shades, LATW, Nights, Humble Home, Thaddeus Greene, HUNGR,Two Hand Fools, Womack Family Band, Living Stereo, Bethesda, The Alarm Clocks, Nicky English, Nick Zuber, Tom Evanchuck, Founding Fathers, Every Third Sunday and Two Hand Fools.

Similar release events are upcoming at venues like Mahall’s 20 Lanes, the Beachland Ballroom and the Grog Shop.
