All 59 Cuyahoga County communities now have agreed to Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald’s “Business Attraction and Anti-Poaching Protocol.”
The protocol, launched in September 2011, asks communities to step up their economic development efforts, agree not to lure companies that have not expressed a desire to move, and give notice to a home community if an intra-county move is contemplated.
“We want to get communities thinking in a new way and working together on economic development,” said FitzGerald. “The protocol is one way that our communities are moving in a positive direction and seeking new, collaborative approaches to growing businesses. When you combine this agreement with our new form of government, our Economic Development Fund, and the exciting projects around the county, it sends a powerful message.”
