Apollo’s Fire Kicks Off “Come to the River” Tour

Thu 2/28 @ 7:30PM

Apollo’s Fire is known as “Cleveland’s Baroque Orchestra.” But the versatile ensemble leaves behind its usual territory in favor of a program it describes as “a covered-wagon journey [that] becomes a journey
of the soul.”

Once again, violins become “fiddles,” and they’re joined by guitar, hammered dulcimer, and wooden flutes for “Come to the River,” an evening of American traditional music that’s proved popular with Apollo’s Fire audiences in the past.

Tonight’s performance at Lake Erie College’s Morley Hall is a warm-up for a tour that will take the program to the University of Florida, Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and the Soka Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles. Tickets are $8-$25.
