Nora Jane Struthers Brings Classic Americana to CVNP

Sat 2/9 @ 8PM

Nora Jane Struthers has the sweet face and pure, unfussy soprano of a true country girl. Her poignant songs about humble folks sound like they’ve been kicking around the Appalachians for quite a few years.

But the Virginia-bred, New York-educated former English teacher who now lives in Nashville brings a craftsmanship to her work that shows she’s got a worldlier background than a backwoods upbringing. Struthers packed in teaching in 2008 to dedicate herself to music, and her first-place win at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in 2010 undoubtedly reassured her she’d made the right choice.

Now she’s got a four-piece band, the Party Line, helping to fill out the story songs inspired by her literary passions, which she’s dubbed “classic Americana.” They’ll perform at the Happy Days Lodge at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Tickets are $17.
