Bowling’s popularity peaked in the ’50s and ’60, which is likely why the pastime has such a retro feel. It’s become part of a time-machine package for younger people, which includes swing dancing, roller derby, and rockabilly bands.
Music scene veterans Lords of the Highway and relative newcomers Scoliosis Jones are a couple of a small number of Cleveland bands playing that heavied-up take on ’50s rockabilly some have dubbed “punkabilly.” The two bands will be playing in the Inferno Lounge at Parma’s Yorktown Lanes from 9pm-12:30 am., part of a regular Saturday night series of live music featuring mostly acts with a nostalgic vibe.
