If you’re a fan of classic ’70s-style glitter rock — and considering that Cleveland is the market that launched David Bowie, we know many of you are — you’ll want to get to know Vanity Crash, if you don’t already. The core of the band came together when members worked together in Cleveland Public Theatre’s of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Similar musical proclivities have kept them working together through the years.
The band is fronted by Dan Folino, who has graced area stages as an actor in a series of edgy roles. The band’s musical motor is guitarist Dennis Yurich, who’s played with a lengthy series of interesting local bands including Queue-Up, the Times and Verdanzen.
Expect eye-catching attire, outstanding showmanship, and absurdly catchy tunes when the band kicks off a short tour with a free show at the Five O’Clock Lounge with the Chromes. Listen for the band on Thursday March 7 at 10 pm on WRUW 91.1 FM’s weekly Live from Cleveland show before they head off to places like Indianapolis, Nashville, Louisville, Chicago, and even Akron!
