Brooklyn Math Rockers at Now That’s Class

Wed 3/13 @ 9PM

Instrumental trio Behold … the Arctopus plays heavy, dissonant, hair-trigger music closely related to the progressive math metal that was a staple at the Euclid Tavern on Monday nights in the ’90s. It’s no surprise then that the Brooklyn-based group’s drummer is Weasel Walter, the cornerstone of the Flying Luttenbachers, who played clamorous avant-garde music for nearly 15 years. Colin Marston and Mike Lerner create a free-ranging encyclopedia of sounds on guitar. “We play music with a lot of notes,” they promise — and they do. They’re at Now That’s Class with Megachurch and Palaces opening. Admission is $8.
