Clevelander Doug Wood has built a career for himself as an instrumental acoustic guitarist, with music that’s versatile enough to fit into many different formats. He’s released three CDs, toured the country, been featured on NPR, and played with nationally known musicians like violinist Tracy Silverman and drummer Roy “Futureman” Wooten of Bela Fleck & the Flecktones.
For Trinity Cathedral’s weekly Brown Bag concert series, he’ll perform with a pair of friends he’s collaborated with before: bassist Darren Frate whom he played with in jazz-folk ensemble Watts Gnu back in the ’90s and classically trained cellist Tara Hanish, who’s also in rock group Seafair.
The trio will play a program of Wood’s original material plus some well-known pop tunes, re-arranged for this distinctive instrumentation.
The performance is free. You can bring your own lunch to eat in the cathedral, or buy lunch there for $5.
