Iraqi Oud Player at Cleveland Museum of Art

Naseer Shamma, an Iraqi native, is noted worldwide for his mastery of the lute-like middle eastern oud, using it to play both traditional and contemporary music. Currently, he’s based in Cairo, Egypt where, among his other activities, he performs with an ensemble called Oyoun. They’ll be making their Cleveland debut at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Gartner Auditorium tonight. Tickets are $34-$54; go here to purchase.
