It’s hard to imagine the Pittsburgh music scene without the Clarks who have been playing their uncomplicated, energetic rock since 1986. With a dozen albums in their catalog, the Clarks are one of those local bands who always seem to have missed their big break by a minute, but remain dearly beloved by local fans.
They’ve made a ton of Cleveland area appearances over the years too, garnering a following here. They’re promising a new studio album this year, their first new full-length since 2009’s Restless Days. Maybe they’ll preview some of the material when they’re back at the Grog Shop tonight with fellow Pittsburghers Bastard Bearded Irishmen — who cite bands like the Pogues and Flogging Molly as inspirations — opening, Tickets are $15 in advance, $17 at the door.
