Beck Center for the Arts Expanding to Tremont

Grand opening: Fri 5/10 @ 6 – 10pm

Tremont West Development Corporation has announced the recipient the 2013 Storefront Incubator Program and the winner is… the Beck Center for the Arts. Beginning Wed 5/15, the Beck Center — which is celebrating 80 years of creating art experiences — will begin using the storefront at 2406 Professor Ave. to offer adult education classes in visual arts and improvisational theater.

“Beck Center welcomes the opportunity to expand its footprint into the Tremont community which has a long-time commitment to arts and culture,” said Lucinda Einhouse, Beck Center president and CEO. “Developing strategies to attract new, diverse audiences is a priority for our institution and one that has been encouraged through our participation in Cleveland Foundation’s ‘Engaging the Future’ initiative.”

“Improv Games,” led by Russ Stich, founding member of Something Dada Improvisational Troupe and “The Art of Drawing,” taught by Alastair James Stockdale, will be the first adult courses offered in the new Tremont location. Classes start Mon 5/13. Additional classes begin the week of Mon 6/10. Register online or call 216.521.2540 x10.

Tremont has just gotten more artsy.
