Paris Combo cut a swath through Paris in the ’90s, playing cafes and barges, and imbibing an alluring potpourri of cosmopolitan influences — jazz, cabaret, pop, gypsy music, new wave, post-punk, Latin and Middle Eastern and African music.
After four studio albums and a live album, the band took a break in the mid ’00s, but came roaring back in 2010 to pick up where they left off. They’ve just released their new album 5, self-described as “a fun and cultured collage crafted using riveting rhythms and irresistible melodies from around the world, nifty jazz nuances, playful cabaret, and spunky Europop.”
They’re doing a short U.S. tour and Cleveland, for once, got lucky: they’re coming to the Cleveland Museum of Art. Tickets are $34-$54.
