Shure Microphones is trying to get word out about its new products. So it’s going where the musicians are. The company is sponsoring National Open Mic Night, a series of open mics in Boston, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Memphis, Nashville, New York, Portland, Raleigh-Durham, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle — and Cleveland.
Lakewood’s Winchester Music Hall, which holds open mics every Tuesday and Thursday when they don’t have a show, is the local venue for the event. It’s not a contest, just a chance for participating musicians to use a variety of Shure gear. Performance slots are all filled, but you can come down and check out the musicians and how the Shure stuff performs for free.
