Pittsburgh-based mixed-race, mixed-gender, mixed-nationality band One World Tribe bring high-energy good times wherever they go.
With members from around the world bringing funk, Latin, Afrobeat and other influences, you know there’ll be dancing and gyrating and very likely a guy in the corner in a tie-dye T-shirt and cargo shorts pumping his arms and doing the Grateful Dead swirlie dance.
One World Tribe, formed in 1994, has built a strong regional fan base, which has springboarded it to national touring. It’s released three CDs over the years but is mainly known for the intensity and familial vibe of its live shows.
The band returns Cleveland for a show at the Grog Shop, where they’ll be joined with Akron’s jazzy soul-rockers Winslow, riding high on the release of their latest album, Left of the Right Direction, in March.
