The North Union Farmers Market at Shaker Square held its first outdoor market of the year April 6.
On hand was an array of vendors with seasonal goods — potatoes and apples pulled from storage, lettuce and microgreens grown in hoop houses, maple syrup, cheeses, mushrooms, baked goods. There were also crafter, prepared food vendors, cooking demonstrations, and foods to sample. And as usual, sheep were shorn of their winter coats to celebrate the coming of spring.
The North Union Farmers Market at Crocker Park begins its season next Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
