Opening Fri 4/5 @ 6pm
Collinwood’s Waterloo Arts District has gotten even more rock and roll with the opening of Space: ROCK, a new gallery devoted to Cleveland music history and photography. Its first exhibit, “The Golden Age of Cleveland Rock: 1969-1974,” “focuses on a time period when many local bands were getting signed to record labels and attracting national attention.”
Expect to see plenty of posters, photos, album jackets, clippings and promo materials telling the stories of local artists such as the James Gang, the Raspberries, Damnation of Adam Blessing, Rastus, Wild Butter, Tiny Alice, Eli Radish, Rainbow Canyon, Michael Stanley, Glass Harp, Blue Ash, and Left End who found success beyond NEO.
In conjunction with the exhibit, the Beachland Ballroom & Tavern will host a public oral history taping w/ Jim Quinn, guitarist for Damnation of Adam Blessing and longtime area band manager, on Sat 4/20 at 2pm.
Check out Space: ROCK and pay homage to Cle’s truly legendary place in rock history. Space: ROCK is located at 15721 Waterloo Road, 44110. The opening reception is free and is held in conjunction with Walk All Over Waterloo.
