Jazz will be in the air when some of the area’s most talented musicians get together for a special event concert called Trumpet Genesis.
Four trumpet players whose names are well-known to anyone into the Cleveland jazz scene will lead the band — Josh Rzepka, Joe Miller, Kenny Davis and Jack Schantz. And the musicians who will be supporting them are just as stellar — pianists Jackie Warren and David Thomas, bassist Peter Dominguez, drummer Ron Godale, and percussionist Sammy DeLeon.
The group is celebrating the release of a CD project, also called Trumpet Genesis, that features all of the players listed above, plus trumpeters Marcus Belgrave and Ian Indorf. That’s a lot of brass!
The ensemble will be performing the arrangements on the album as well as other new arrangements. CDs will be available at the concert at the Tri-C Main Stage Theater. Tickets are $15.
