Americana Heavyweight Gurf Morlix Performs House Concert

Sun 5/19 @ 7PM

The latest edition of the Mechanic Street House Concerts features legendary folk/roots music performer/producer Gurf Morlix, who’ll be debuting material from a new album Gurf Morlix Finds the Present Tense.

Morlix is known in the Americana community for his long-time collaboration with Lucinda Williams, as her guitarist, bandleader and producer for over a decade.

But he’s also worked with a lengthy list of the roots music’s most respected performers and songwriters including Ray Wylie Hubbard, Robert Earl Keen, Patty Griffin, Tom Russell, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and the late Warren Zevon, while crafting his own repertoire of evocative tunes. He’s played or recorded with Emmylou Harris, Robert Plant, Jerry Lee Lewis, Steve Earle, Bob Neuwirth, Rosanne Cash, David Byrne and many, MANY more.

Although originally from Buffalo, NY, he has, of course, ended up in Austin, Texas — ground zero for singer-songwriter American — where he’s lived for the past 22 years
