Canadian folk/pop singer Lauren Mann launched her career out of Calgary. But she’s been touring heavily in the last two years, leading to the release of her new album Over Land and Sea in April.
With her band, the Fairly Odd Folk, she makes lilting folk/pop music speckled with instruments like ukulele in addition to the more typical guitars and keyboards. Her music’s delicate and even occasionally a little precious, but her clear, confident vocals steer clear of being cloying or cutesy. And the songs are ridiculously catchy.
She’s at Musica with Vince Tyree & the Visitors, All Is Harvest and the Scenic Route. Tickets are $9.99.
