Despite Death, Music is a Way of Life at Memorial Summer Camp

Mon 6/17 – Fri 6/21

Cleveland musician and music educator John Kuegeler passed away at forty last summer. This summer, fifteen high school students will take their commitment to music to the next level at the John Kuegeler Memorial Summer Music Camp.

The free week of band rehearsal leads to a public concert (also free). Family, friends, strangers and anonymous donors raised $6000 in an online Indiegogo campaign to fund the camp. Davidione Pearl (Mo’ Mojo) organized the camp, and J.T. Lynch (Horns & Things) will teach.

The John Kuegeler Memorial Summer Music Camp lasts 9am to 3pm Mon 6/17 to Fri 6/21 at Passport Project (12801 Buckeye Rd). Lunch and transportation is available. The Sat 6/22 performance will focus on jazz standards, but also include some pop, singing and poetry. Sight-reading auditions are Sat 6/1.
