Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter Caroline Smith falls on the adult side of the girlie/womanly divide, which seems to parse female singers these days.
Although she’s only in her mid 20s, her vocals feel mature, hefty with experience and brushed with a hint of soul and blues. Her expressive singing suits the different contexts in which she’s placed it, ranging from solo performances, to a folk duo, to the full-band backing of her ensemble the Good Night Sleeps.
They’ll be at the Beachland Tavern with Cleveland’s Dolfish (Max Sollisch) and Morgan Mecaskey opening. Admission is $8.
