Stereo Workers Union Record Release at Grog Shop

Fri 5/31 @ 9PM

For a group with a cinematic, classic rock sound, Cleveland’s Stereo Workers Union manages to keep a low profile.

The band’s led by singer/songwriters H.J. DeBoe and Alfredo Garcia, who claim influences like Bob Dylan, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and the Small Faces. You can heard some Bowie and a lot of  the darker ’80s new wave bands like Psychedelic Furs and Echo & the Bunnymen in their sound as well.

But the group hasn’t released an album since 2007’s God Bless the Stereo Worker. That’s about to change. Their new record, Get Down With the Way Down, produced in Ohio City and in Southern California, hits this week when they play a record release show at the Grog Shop.  They promise the wait for the next one won’t be that long; supposedly it’s already half in the can.

Regular Shoulder, Lake Effect and Bakers Basement open.  Admission is $6.
