Fri 5/24 @ 10PM
The Kings/Queens of the Iron Mic events, showcasing rappers and other hip hop-influenced local talent, have been going on at the Grog Shop for over a decade.
The Queens events focus exclusively on the ladies — a group too often overlooked in a male-dominated genre.
Longtime area promoter Mexie Wilson hosts an evening that will feature Aaqila, Indica Spitts, Rain the Quiet Storm, Chevy Blue, Poison I.V., Carma Delane, and others. if past events re any indication, it should be a mix of shaky performers still finding their stage legs and those with an eye-opening combination of insight and sparkling delivery.
Admission is $8.
