Cleveland’s Wade Oval Wednesdays have already started. This week, the Akron Art Museum’s Downtown@Dusk joins the parade of free summer concert series. In Akron alone, you can also go to Rockin’ on the River in Cuyahoga Falls on Fridays and Lock 3 Live on Fridays and Saturdays.
Both of those series feature tribute bands. Downtown@Dusk offers a variety of area bands in different genres who play original music.
Leading off is Cleveland’s Lost State of Franklin, an eclectic roots music ensemble featuring the songs and vocals of Scott Franklin and Tyler Postma.
In addition to music, there are hands-on art activities for kids from 6:30-8:30pm and ArtTalk@Dusk at 7:30pm. This week director of education Alison Caplan will talk abut the art of Ezra Jack Keats.
The museum’s café and gift shop will be open until 9, as will the galleries with paid admission ($7). Downtown@Dusk is free; parking is also free after 6 at the parking deck across from the museum.
Here’s the music schedule for the summer:
