The approximately 160 musicians who formed the 42 bands that comprised this year’s Lottery League went well beyond slapping together a few noisy punk-rock tunes. The “Big Show” at the Agora in early April showcased the amazing things that random groups of local musicians can do in a limited amount of time, with diverse musical styles, interesting songs, and creative presentation.
Luckily, Lottery League’s got an afterlife this time, with several post-Big Show events planned. The Beachland Ballroom and Tavern will feature four Lottery League bands, along with some of their members’ “regular” bands.
Lottery League bands who’ll play are Shark Martian, LaRacasse, How To Stay Alive in the Woods, and KILL IT WITH FIRE. The “real” bands include the Luckey Ones, Bluegrass Baptism, Kill the Hippies!, and Filmstrip.
Admission is $5.
