Waterloo Arts Fest Features a Wealth of Local Music

Sat 6/29 @ noon-7PM

The annual Waterloo Arts Fest is an all-afternoon affair with five stages. So that provides a lot of time slots for bands, performers, and DJs, and offers area music lovers a chance to check out a whole bunch of local talent for free.

Not only is all the music local but much of it originates right in the North Collinwood neighborhood, which is really stepping up its game as a mecca for creative types.

The schedule includes the usual singer-songwriters and indie rock bands. But you can also hear funk (We the People), klezmer  (Workmen’s Circle Klezmer), reggae (Jah Messengers), polka (Polka Pirates), old-time Americana (the Spyder Stompers), steel drum music (Junior Panic Steel Band), and Dixieland (Local 4 Dixieland Band).

You can take a break from the music to check out the food, galleries, hands-on art-making, kids area, and booths from local organizations, vendors and artists.
